FALL in love (street style inspo...)

Ash Grey
Hey guys whats up? I have been so preoccupied lately it's not funny. With mid-semester and end of term around the corner, by around the corner I mean Monday! and with my phone getting robbed I've been quite out of it. Nevertheless I just wanted to share a little fall street-style inspiration with you. Light grey knit cardigan, layered with a leather jacket and a grey turban with monochromatic blue, and a pair of chrome silver aviator. YES I said turban, they aren't just for the Arabs and Indians you know, culture and fashion has been  apart but if you step back and take a look you'll find how chic a turban, or burka, or dashiki can be in a western street wear. Plus, it makes for one unique and out there outfit.

Rebecca the henna queen.

Ash Grey
Rebecca Rowe

Hey Grey clan, how was your week? Today I bring to you the queen of henna, Rebecca Rowe. A born and bred Jamaican twenty year old part time model, fashion design college student and full time henna Artist. I met with Rebecca and had a little intimate one on one and man she's one power house. Someone who I'm sure you'ill want  your daughters to take as a role model. At the young age of seventeen Rebecca got a newly found love for henna art, and was determind on making a career  out of it. Now at the age of twenty, Rebecca is a known self taught henna artist, whose work trust me, is simply MIND BLOWING! expecially for someone who is self taught and has been only practicing for four years. Below is some of her latest master pieces, pieces that has a bit of soul in every drop of ink.

Ash Grey says thank you.

Ash Grey
Yikes, it has been quite a weeek for me I must say. Grey moda reaching over four thousand views! like i mean 4000+ man, woman, chid and any other species, clicked on my blog and i would just like to say a big big thank you. To see my blog growing ( may not be as fast as how i anticipated) but  it is, and in a ten month period I hit 4000, sighs I'm so elated! I wanted write earlier in the week but given that it was critique week ( Art schools version of exam week), it was virtually impossible, preparing and all. But nontheless, I'm very excited  and so thankfull. Big things are in store for Grey moda, and the more the blog grows, with hopes, the more I grow a closer connection with my readers. Because at the end of it all my whole goal is to inspiere and cultivate dreams and aspiration through the art form that is fashion. I love you all dearly, and again, THANK YOU.

Me on a laid back hot day at school, fusing these lovely colors togather.

Fashion illustrator on the rise Mark Russell.

Ash Grey

Wah gwan people?  or hey guys how are you lol. It's fall, the grandure time of holloween and all things over sized. But! today i'm here profiling a budding Jamaican fashion designer, Mark Russell. Bred in trelwany Jamaica, a parish notoriously known for thier yams. At the age of 20, Mark moved to the big city of Kingston with dreams of pursuing his fashion carear and get a degree at the Edna manley college school of the visual and performing arts. Bursting at the seams with talent, unlike you've ever seen. Mark potray's a calm demenor in juxtaposition to his work. Grim, dark and sadness, with his main and only inspiration from he was a child, the great Alexander Mcqueen. Coming into Edna manley Mark posses illustration skills to the gods!  Personally the best illustrations I've ever seen, as in me!
When i had a sit down with mark and i asked him to explain his Illustrations, he simply said: "My girls are a reflection of who I truley want to be. serious and focused". I personally found it amusing when he said "My girls" refering to the illustrations, but that just goes to show the level of intimacy he has with his work. And with every strand of hair, to the very detailing of the skin you can see the heart, should and dedication. Mark Russell is one to keep under the microscope for he is destined for great things if he continues on this path. Here are a few samples of his work.

The dawn of the crocs!

Ash Grey

Fashion designer christopher kane surely got everyone talking at London fashion  week 017. Long before i'm always a sucker for the strange and crazy and i must say, hats off to you christopher, you beat me to the curve. Crocs are what one would call 'fashion abominition'. Plastic ill fitting, illshaped footwear first intended as beach or boat clogs, but as you know, we fashionistas got creative. Thou shuned by many, it has always been worn in a very casual setting. Back to mister kane! A normal day in the weks festivities untill boom! bejweled crocs begun crawling down the runway, lol i could just imagine the look on critiqes faces when these out casted footwear graced the runway of London fashion week. Personaly i think it was a bold move, yes crocs arn't the loveliest of footwear, but it is sure a fun and playfull one. I think as a stylist, it is a fun foot wear to play with. and besides, you have all the room to DIY the shit out of it and make it your own.
These are some of my favourites from the show, playfull, bold and edgy.

Online diary. Fall style.

Ash Grey
Though this was suppose to be a lifestyle, fashion and style blog there hasn't been much styling from me personally and since of late I finally built the courage to begin my everlasting carear as a fashion mogul. Starting with, stylist. Ive always loved styling but never really had the right platform to do it, but now i'm starting to costruct a portfolio in which I would love to share the journey with the world with. Never the less it is the season most if not all who worships fashion has been waiting for. Fall, the season where your free to where oversised sweaters, boots and the works. Lifestyle addiction. Cafe Blue ( review)

Ash Grey

I look to two things in the morning, God and Coffe. Since i moved back to the big city for my second year of college i've always wanted somewhere where i can go and unwind and be inspiered, now i truley can say  found said place. Sadly it has always been there but i've never thought of one day actually trying it out and boy i was missing out on ultimate life. Cafe Blue, with 5 locations in jamaica i am only privy to one, Cafe blue soverign, located in legunea kingston. Cafe blue is the perfect get away from a hot day at home or a long day at work or even just simply grab and go to,  its just perfect, expecially for someone like me who enjoys blogging. I would say its the all new york iced coffe blogger life feel, if that makes any sense. Cafe blue soverign attracts uptowners who knows the true meaning of a cafe, thou a little pricey, thier array of gourment coffe hot or cold, made from authentic blue mountain coffe is worth every penny! And not only that, it is the perfect chill spot, wether to meet up with friends and chat, or like me, to go and write. The air conditoning, warm customer service and steller decor makes this possible. All in all, for all you coffe lovers local and abroad be sure to stop by any location near you. You wont regret it! #Coffeislife
